Jethro Pickett is a songwriter from Tasmania, Australia. 2013 saw the release of his debut album, By the Time I Get to Wilmot. It consists of ten songs that journey from the Tasmanian hills to the heart of the listener via the warm tone of his rich voice. Slide guitar, Wurlitzer piano, charismatic drumming and carefully crafted guitar sounds guide Jethro’s audience along a trail of stories and insights from the past to the present. History and hopes are revealed in these intriguing songs.
Amongst the many shows last summer, Jethro and band performed at the Castlepalooza, HWCH & Electric Picnic festivals. They also embarked on a tour of Ireland and the UK with Melbourne/USA soul rockers Cisco Caesar. The coming weeks see the completion of new material due for release in the new year.
